Most of the characters had their life-lesson experiences, and we saw them have 'waking-up' events, so I thought they had, but then what has happened since doesn't quite fit. Or have they just gone into another level of Mist's consuming process?
They're still in Mist, just in another level. The spirit journey was something happening to each of them within their own minds, but not to their actual bodies. What is happening now is still within the Mist world, but with everyone awake. With the exception of Grey, perhaps.
